9 Recipes Inspired by Books

"A recipe is a story that ends with a good meal."—Pat Conroy

As the summer comes to an end, and the month of August was filled with fun activities for the both of us, we decided that instead of cooking a recipe inspired from one of the books that we have read, that we will plan out the recipes we want to try over the next couple of months and share it with you ahead of time! Maybe you will want to cook along with us and let us know how your recipes turned out!

1. The Hunger Games

We both love this series very much and found the perfect recipes to try out as fall is quickly upon us! This will take us both out of our comfort zones a bit because we have never tried a pumpkin soup before! This will be a very interesting attempt and we cannot wait to share it with you! At least we have high hopes for the Deadly Nightlock Punch... because can we really go wrong with a punch made with berries?!

2. Game of Thrones

It is only fitting that with the new House of the Dragon show airing on HBO that we try to make something delicious from A Feast of Ice and Fire Cookbook! We both loved the Game of Thrones series, and are impatiently waiting for the last books to be released. Maybe as we get together to watch one of the episodes from House of the Dragon, we can attempt the almond-crusted trout and Daenaerys' dragon eggs!

3. The Bridgerton Series

I (Kelli) read the Bridgerton series many years ago and fell in love with the stories. With the release of the Netflix show, Chelsea has finally caved and started reading the books and also watched the show. She loves the series just as much! So in preparation for the third season to be released, and to entice Chelsea to keep reading the series, we thought it would be right proper to make some Bridgerton Lemonade to have with some Pork Meat Pies. The meat pies sound a little intimidating.... who has tried meat pies before?!

4. ACOTAR

I (Chelsea) am absolutely in love with the ACOTAR series! Kelli had a slower time coming to love the series, but she does ALMOST as much as I do. Who wouldn't want to imagine relaxing in the Night Court as you sip on one of Azriel's Shadows Cocktails? Or get your morning started with a Cardamom and Rose Petal Iced Latte while enjoying time in the Spring or Summer Courts? We cannot wait to try these drinks!!

5. The Hobbit

I (Kelli) have never read The Hobbit (yet!), but have loved the movies. Chelsea has read the book but has not seen the movies... hmm, I think we need to do a comparison here of which is better, wouldn't you agree?? Anyways, we both have a love of mushrooms and could not pass up the chance to imagine sitting down at a table with Pip and Merry from The Lord of the Rings series (takes place many years after The Hobbit), and munch on some delicious Mushroom Toast.. this might be the recipe we look forward to the most!

Do any of the recipes sound good to you?? We cannot wait to get back into the kitchen together for laughs and making memories as we try to prepare all of the recipes above! Do you think we will have more fails or wins at all of these attempts?!? We cannot wait to share how it all turns out with you!
