If you've been following us for a while, you'll know one of our favorite blogs to write are the 'If you liked this...read that' ones. We get to share lots of books we love and it gets our creative juices flowing trying to pick out books that work with each other! So, for our last blog of 2022, we're sharing more of these favorites!
Chelsea's Picks
If you're looking for a romance read that just makes you ugly cry, then either of these books will do. While The Fault in Our Stars follows teenagers through their love stories, Me Before You follows two adults. So if you're looking for a grown-up version of The Fault in Our Stars, then Me Before You is about as close as you'll get. Now these books aren't just full of ugly cries (which admittedly are mostly at the end). They do have moments of just pure joy in them as well, specifically the bumble bee leggings in Me Before You. I go back and reread these books fairly often, and I hope you will too!
Ok, so while my previous picks were a young adult version and then a grown-up version, both of these picks are technically young adult books. HOWEVER, they are both super good and just leave you guessing throughout the whole thing! One of Us is Lying is a complete whodunnit, while How to Survive Your Murder is horror mixed in with some whodunnit. Both of these picks kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and if you really get into One of Us is Lying there's a second book out with rumors of a third coming out soon.

Yes, I know these two books are by the same author but I just recently found About Tomorrow and I am so glad I did! Abbi Glines is probably one of my favorite young adult romance authors. I found the Rosemary Beach series that Fallen Too Far is a part of a few years ago, and I am pretty sure I devoured the books within a couple of weeks, they had me that hooked! If you are looking for a sweet love story that you will fly through and swoon over the love interest in how they do everything they can to protect and love the woman they have fallen for, both of these books are for you! The books are addictive and little plot twists just make it that much more enticing! I will probably read every book by Abbi Glines because she has hooked me from the start!
If you've been with us for awhile, then you know Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti are my absolute favorite authors ever! I am working my way through all of the books they have written and I have yet to find one that I do not love. Sinners' Playground is the first book in the Harlequin Crew series by the twisted sisters and it will hook you from the start! When I was looking for recommendations of other authors similar to the twisted sisters, I stumbled across Tate James, and boy I was not disappointed! 7th Circle is the first book in the Hades series and it will have you hooked from the beginning. Both the twisted sisters and Tate James depict independent, strong, badass women who fight for themselves and their loved ones, fight for survival, and to come out on top. The men in their lives are just as strong, independent, and badass with the added layer of wanting to protect the woman in their lives as much as possible. Both series are reverse harem where the woman does not need to choose between her love interests to find their happily ever after.
