Kelli's 3 Favorite Authors
“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place. “ ~ Nora Roberts
If you are a book lover, then you have to have a favorite author! Here are my top 3 favorite authors. Even if I don’t read a book by one or all of them for a while, they each hold a special place in my heart and I’d like to share why. And if you’ve never read a book by any of them before, I hope I entice you to check them out!

Nora Roberts
Nora Roberts will always be one of my favorite authors. I started reading her when I was in my teens and will continue to read any new book that she publishes. If you have not already guessed it, I am a sucker for a happily ever after. Nothing is better to me than a love story that works through conflicts and comes out at the end as a strong couple who can face anything as long as they have each other. Every one of Nora Roberts's books that I have read follow this plot line. Whether it is a couple that are just meeting for the first time, childhood acquaintances, or friends that have found each other again in the future as adults, or even initially enemies that realize the other is not in fact the "bad guy", the connection and passion that the couples find together is sweet and just so romantic. There is always some type of turmoil or hardship the main characters must work through, but in the end there is always a happy ending.
I don't know if I can ever choose just one of her books as my favorite. I love the Bride Quartet series she has written, especially at the time when I was engaged and planning my own wedding. It was fun reading one of my favorite authors writing all these love stories about four strong women who give in to love while full on being a wedding destination and planning business of their own! I also loved reading Montana Sky - three sisters coming together for the first time at the death of their father. They have not grown up together and are now thrust into living with each other for a year where they must learn to get along, live like a family, and come together against an enemy who is putting them all in danger, all while each falling in love. I think this story drew me in most because I liked that it was about three sisters (as I am the youngest of 3 sisters) and then once I started reading, I was sucked into the plot of family, love, and danger.
If you haven't read any of her books, I highly recommend:
Sandra Brown
Sandra Brown is one of my all time, absolute favorite romance authors. I have loved every single book that I have read of hers. There have been a couple of her books where there was a slower start to it than I would have liked, especially because I wasn't feeling drawn into the story and didn't know when things would pick up, or even if I wanted to continue reading. However, the fact that I always love every single one of her books, I always give the ones I am not as excited about a try, and she never fails me. Sandra Brown is a romance author but she gives you a lot of grit to the story where things are not or have not been quite that easy for one of the main characters. There have been troubles, turmoil and many hardships that the character has worked on overcoming to come out the other end as a better person. Some characters have bettered themselves and are back for revenge or vengeance. In every story there is some type of murder or disappearance that has occurred which brings the characters in the picture together. Love is always found and worked through with the main characters, and you are ALWAYS hit with some plot twist at the end of the story when things are all falling into place and the murder or disappearances are being solved and brought to life. I don't think there is one book of Sandra Brown's where I was able to fully guess how it was all going to end! She gets me every time with a twist out of left field! And that twist always makes sense to the story afterwards and I wonder how I couldn't have seen it. She is the best at giving you romance but the added extra oomph of suspense and mystery.
If you haven't read any of her books, I highly recommend:
Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti
I have said this before, and I will continue to say it again, I cannot thank #booktok enough for putting Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti on my radar. I am slowly working my way through all of the books that they have written and have loved every single book of theirs that I have come across so far. Caroline and Susanne are a sister duo that write books that make you feel every emotion that is out there. They suck you in with such a great storyline and then make you become so invested in the characters and what is going to happen to them. Every single series I have read by them so far ends in a cliffhanger that drives you wild having to wait for the next book to be released. Since I was later to the game in learning about these wonderfully evil sisters, I have thankfully been able to read a couple of series through all the way without having a wait time between books. And can I just say, these books are LONG! I think every single one of them that I have read so far are over 500 pages, with the last Zodiac Academy book that came out being over 900 pages! Even though each of these books are immensely long, it does not feel like you have read almost a thousand pages. You are literally flying through the pages just wanting to know what is going to happen, who is going to survive, what new twist will be thrown at you, etc.! One thing I do love that these sisters do, even though while reading you hate it more than anything, is that they never let things be easy for the characters. They always have to fight to survive, fight to win, fight to be able to fight another day. I love that. These sisters have me as a reader for life. I look forward to every book that they have yet to write (most especially the conclusion of Zodiac Academy that comes out this December) and am excited to continue all of the books that they have already published.
If you haven’t read any books by these two, I highly recommend:

Deciding who your favorite author(s) are can be difficult, most especially if you read a lot or read books within several different genres. It is always fun when there is an author that you can continuously keep going back to, or exciting when you can't wait for them to release a new book! Have you read any books by the authors I mentioned? If not, maybe you'll find a book of theirs you can add to your TBR! Or maybe you have a favorite romance author or romance novel that you'd like for me to check out?
